After a while, the realization dawns that you still need to do all of the same self-care that you did for yourself at home (or maybe more!) and you find yourself needing to get established with local medical, dental, optometry providers and more. In this blog post, I’ll help lay out some of the most popular providers in Puerto Morelos so that you can make an educated choice about where to make your new-patient appointments.

Primary Care and Specialists

Now I’d like to cover the topic of primary and specialty medical care in Puerto Morelos. There are multiple options with a range of price-points depending on the severity of the medical need, your Spanish language ability, and your preferences in providers.

• Live Medical Center in the colonia is arguably one of the most popular providers with the immigrant community because they have bilingual doctors, a number of specialists like orthopedists and gynecologists available, and an onsite lab and pharmacy. They will even deliver prescriptions or supplies to your home. A basic office visit starts at 600 pesos.

• Centro Medico Cubano Puerto Morelos is another popular option for general medical care in the colonia. They are very affordable with consults starting at 55 pesos. They too have an on-site pharmacy.

• Médica Puerto Morelos – Dr. Victor Ballasteros is located in the Pescadores neighborhood of Puerto Morelos. This office includes general medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy, ultrasounds, EKGs, pain management, dental, podiatry, and physical therapy all in one place.
