La Bodega Verde
With so many wonderful restaurants to try in Puerto Morelos, it has been impossible to try them all…so far! But while girlfriends were here visiting, we stopped in the colonia at Bodega Verde for breakfast and it was a lovely experience!
Con tantos restaurantes increíbles en Puerto Morelos, ha sido imposible probar todos…hasta el momento! Pero mientras me visitaban unas amigas, paramos en la colonia a desayunar en Bodega Verde y fue una experiencia hermosa.
When we arrived, the first thing I noticed was the lovely bougainvillea and palm trees that greeted us from the street, giving the restaurant a fresh, clean look. As we ventured inside, we quickly saw where the magic happens – the menu and the kitchen are both easily viewable from the wide-open doorway.
Cuando llegamos, lo primero que note fue la bugambilia hermosa y las palmeras que nos dieron la bienvenida desde la calle, dando un toque fresco y limpio al restaurante. Vimos en seguida el lugar donde sucede la magia – la cocina y el menú – ambos a la vista desde la entrada.
We stepped inside and through the entryway and were instantly transported into an adorable indoor/outdoor dining area which incorporated plants and simple, lovely decorations to adorn the space. Tables and chairs that they have are an eclectic mix of colors and styles which added to the charm.
Al entrar, pasamos a través de la recepción e instantáneamente fuimos transportadas a un adorable comedor interior/exterior que incorporó plantas y decoraciones sencillas y encantadoras para adornar el espacio. Las mesas y las sillas que tienen son una mezcla ecléctica de colores y estilos que se sumó al encanto.
My friends and I all ordered different things and were all pleased with our meals. I ordered the bacon molletes, which were perfectly toasted to give a slight crunch on the outside of the bolillo roll, but still maintain the soft interior texture of the bread. This was topped with flavorful beans, plentiful cheese, pico de gallo and lots of savory bacon bits.
Mis amigas y yo pedimos varios platillos y todas estábamos satisfechas con lo que pedíamos. Pedí los molletes con tocino y el bolillo estuvo tostado a la perfección con un toque de crujiente en su exterior mientras mantuvo su textura suave en medio. Encima de eso, se agregó frijoles sabrosos, bastante queso, pico de gallo y muchos pedacitos de tocino crujiente.
One friend ordered the traditional huevos a la Mexicana, which was a hearty meal of scrambled eggs with onion, tomato, and spinach and sides of black beans and tortillas. Another friend ordered enfrijoladas with chicken – if you’re not familiar with that dish, it is made of fried, rolled-up corn tortillas with beans, cream, cheese, onion and chicken. It looked amazing!
Una amiga pidió el plato tradicional de huevos a la mexicana, que consiste en una comida bastante llenadora de huevos revueltos con espinaca, cebolla, y jitomate y acompañados con frijoles y tortillas. Otra amiga pidió enfrijoladas con pollo – si no está familiarizado con esta comida, se trata de tortillas de maíz envueltos y fritos, junto con crema, queso, cebolla, frijoles y pollo. ¡Me pareció super rico!
We had their natural fruit waters to drink and were all happy with how refreshing those were as well. They also offer lots of fresh juice, smoothies, and coffee drinks for those interested.
También probamos sus aguas naturales de frutas y todas estábamos felices con lo refrescantes que eran también. Además ofrecen jugos, smoothies, y bebidas de café para los que prefieren eso.
My girlfriends have gone home now, but I’ll have to keep going back to try some of my other favorites I saw on the menu, like chilaquiles, waffles, banana bread, bagel sandwiches, and their bakery desserts. With the calming ambiance at Bodega Verde, you could happily sit there most of the day reading or writing as you eat your way through the menu.
Mis amigas ya regresaron a casa, pero tendré que volver frecuentemente para probar algunas de mis comidas favoritas que vi en el menú como los chilaquiles, waffles, pan de plátano, sandwiches de bagel, y otros postres. Con el ambiente tranquilo de Bodega Verde, pudieras sentar ahí felizmente casi todo el día leyendo o escribiendo mientras pruebas varias cosas de su menú.
