It’s no secret—the Mexican Caribbean can get pretty steamy at certain times of the year. What might surprise newcomers, though, is that most restaurants in Puerto Morelos are open-air. Usually that’s part of the charm, with ceiling or pedestal fans keeping the air moving and the atmosphere relaxed.
But let’s be honest—there are days when the heat feels relentless, the humidity is heavy, or the mosquitos seem determined to join your dinner party. And for some visitors, adjusting to the tropical climate can be tough. That’s where a little extra creature comfort makes all the difference! Keep reading to find out where to stay cool while dining in Puerto Morelos.
Pro Tip: Most restaurants will have bug spray on hand if you need it!
