We need to be honest, we are beer snobs and we LOVE the craft brew Cerveza Pescadores. About 5km south of Puerto Morelos and about 30 minutes from the Cancun airport you will find a unique local brewery with extraordinary beer, a really cool vibe, and great food surrounded by an outdoor covered patio with a jungle view.
As far as the beer goes, they have a rotating variety from a smooth and malty amber ale to a potent hoppy IPA, all of which contain no conservatives or chemicals and are crafted with well water by their in-house brewmaster. Some of the tourists’ favorite beers include the Pale Ale – flavorful and smooth, and the Habanero Ale – spicy but just the right amount of kick to not burn you out. They often experiment with limited releases. Let us know in the comments which one is your favorite.
The first things to notice when you walk in are the high ceilings and the big glass windows that give it an indoor/outdoor feel. The wrap-around patio has a variety of seating options. The low-key tasting room has a European feel with picnic tables and benches. Take a minute to explore and enjoy the quippy signs that are scattered throughout. As part of their entertainment, they offer board games as well as phenomenal live music at least once a month. Take home a souvenir mug, t-shirt, or cap!
We recommend that you go hungry, we loved the pulled pork sandwiches and we’re told that the brisket and ribs are outstanding. According to several tourists, both dishes were moist and tender with a wonderful smoke ring and beautiful crunchy bark.
